2019 Pastels in the Park Coordinator

What to Expect
This event starts at 8:00AM before the parade at 10:00AM. When the parade finishes there will be hundreds of people circling the event while you’re working. Many like to talk about your piece, guess what it is, visit, and “vote” for your piece in the nonexistent contest. Most artists educate the crowd regarding the gateway education camp and the sponsors who help make this event possible. Your piece will be near sponsor signs but will not be connected to a specific business/sponsor.
When: July 4th 8AM - 4PM
Where: Beachfront Park
Near the gazebo there is a concrete slab where you will find the pastel squares and the gateway education crew set up awaiting your arrival.
1. Check in with volunteers and let them know what number is on the corner of your chosen square.
2. Gateway education provides pastels and basic artistic supplies that are shared amongst the artists such as; broom, sugar water, and paintbrushes.
3. When you are finished with your piece, you will let a volunteer know, and they will then take a picture of it while its fresh. Then please return your supplies and pastels to their colored containers or the remnants container.
